The task of designing a complex and interesting nine-apartment house with a total floor area of 4600 m2 struck us as an opportunity to engage in an exercise on the theme of the «architectural corner», in spite of the fact that the building does not occupy a corner position in the structure of its street block. However, as in the previous design for the building in Podsosensky Pereulok, such an organizational and conventional structure led in the end to so many lapses in quality that six months after completion of the house only one apartment had been sold.
