Located on a cramped plot in the old centre of Moscow, this building takes its determinant parameters from the system of urban-planning, utilities, and fire-safety restrictions. The two-part volume is dictated by the desire to reflect in architectural terms the historical boundary which runs through the plot between the original two lots. The building houses six apartments and an art gallery on the first and basement floors.

This design project continues our firm's policy of looking for an independent modern language free of historicism, but in keeping with context.
